Nonprofits Assistance Fund in the Community
In addition to our own Financial Management Workshops and the Financial Management Network Lunch, Nonprofits Assistance Fund staff also participate in a variety of other events in the community. Through these conference sessions, speaking engagements, and other partnerships with our nonprofit allies we work to encourage healthy financial practices.
MCN Annual Conference: Nonprofit State Fair
At MCN's 20th annual conference, inspired by the Great Minnesota Get Together, participants will network with peers, learn about current nonprofit trends and issues, and share resources with one another.
Financial Turnarounds and Organizational Transformations
Organizational crises often appear as financial problems first. Facing and tackling systemic financial problems requires much more than a new budget or one time grant. Fortunately, nonprofits in Minnesota have demonstrated that turnarounds can be successful with strong leadership and well-developed plans. This session will provide an overview of several types of financial issues and approaches to start the change process. We will share stories of financial and organizational transformation from a panel of Minnesota nonprofits. Practitioners who have led successful turnarounds will discuss what happened on the ground at their organization, including how they built strategies and defined roles that led to actual implementation and institutionalization of the necessary change.
Presented by Kate Barr, executive director, Nonprofits Assistance Fund and a panel of nonprofit executive directors
