Grantee Financial Review with the IRS 990
Now is the time to become familiar with the IRS 990. Not only has the IRS made significant changes to the form in the last few years, but the State of Minnesota has raised the audit threshold, which means fewer nonprofits will be mandated to have audited financial reports. IRS 990s are the next best standard financial report.
This session will cover what to look for on an IRS 990 to understand a nonprofit organization's financial position by walking through the IRS 990 of a real nonprofit organization. Gain a better understanding of the changes to the form and what information is most relevant for grantmakers. Explore a side by side comparison of audited financial statements and the IRS 990, and learn about a tool to convert the information in the IRS 990 into a more familiar, financial statement format.
This training is part of the Effective Grantmaking Series (for foundation program officers and grant managers, sponsored by Minnesota Council on Foundations.
