Kate oversees Nonprofits Assistance Fund's strategic plans, development, loan capital, outreach, and program activities for the loan funds. Under her leadership, the organization has emerged as a premier financial management resource in Minnesota by providing training, strategic financial counsel, and loans to the nonprofit community. Prior to joining the Nonprofits Assistance Fund, Kate served as Senior Vice President of Riverside Bank where she was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, and community development lending. With her unique insight and experience, she is a popular speaker, trainer, and writer on nonprofit management and financial issues. Kate holds a Master's degree from Hamline University and is currently a member of their adjunct faculty. She serves on the boards of directors of the Neighborhood Development Center, Partners for the Common Good, and Western Bank.

Janet is responsible for managing Nonprofits Assistance Fund's loan
program. In this capacity she helps the
lending team assess each nonprofit’s unique financial situation and craft loan
applications that best meet their immediate and long-term needs. As a loan officer, she assists individual nonprofits
during the loan application, review process, and throughout the lifecycle of
the loan. She also delivers training workshops and provides technical
assistance on financial management topics to nonprofits throughout Minnesota. Janet is a graduate of MCN's Leadership Institute. Prior to joining
the Nonprofits Assistance Fund, Janet was Director of Operations and Financial
Manager at Minnesota Environmental Initiative, where she oversaw the financial
reporting, budgeting, and operational systems. She has a BA in Business
Management from the University of St. Thomas.
Phil Hatlie, Loan Officer & trainer

Phil is responsible for assisting nonprofits during the loan application,
review process, and throughout the lifecycle of the loan. He has a special expertise in charter school financing. He also
delivers training workshops and provides technical assistance on
financial management topics to nonprofits throughout Minnesota. Prior
to joining Nonprofits Assistance Fund,
Phil spent 15 years working as the lead finance person at three
Minnesota nonprofits. He served as a Director of Finance and
Administration for the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches and Twin
Cities Habitat for Humanity and as the Director of Operations for the
Higher Education Consortium for Urban Affairs (HECUA).
Michael Anderson, Loan Officer & trainer

Michael is responsible for advising nonprofits through the loan application and review process, as well as throughout the lifecycle of the loan. He also provides technical assistance and delivers training workshops on a wide variety of nonprofit financial management topics. He graduated from St. Thomas and holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. Michael serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota and on the Board of Directors of PRG, Inc., a nonprofit community development corporation.
Steve Boland, Loan Officer & Trainer

Steve works with nonprofits during the loan application and review process, in addition to providing strategic advice and training. Steve's career began with the office of Congressman Bruce Vento in Saint Paul and transitioned to management positions in statewide and local nonprofits, including serving as Executive Director of the Saint Paul Neighborhood Network, Summit-University Planning Council and the Greater Frogtown Community Development Corporation. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and is pursuing a Master of Nonprofit Management from Hamline University. Steve currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sparc, a community development corporation in Saint Paul, and is a regular blood platelet donor with the American Red Cross.

Sandra coordinates our loans and lines of credit and provides administrative support to our loan officers. Prior to joining the Nonprofits Assistance Fund, Sandra was Office Manager for the Minneapolis Consortium of Community Developers where she assisted with the coordination of the small business lending, technical assistance, internship, and public relations programs.
Matt Karl, Operations Manager

Matt leads and manages the overall operations of the Nonprofits Assistance Fund,
including
the database, corporate records, grants/contracts compliance and
reporting, and
all other areas of the management information system. He has over 20
years experience as the top financial/administrative staff member at
several
small- and mid-sized nonprofits, including the Minnesota Children’s
Museum,
Great River Greening, and the Hearing, Speech, and Deafness Center in
Seattle. Matt has also served as the Senior Research Associate of the
Charities
Review Council. Matt holds an MA in
Technical Communication from Metropolitan State University.
Ashley Schweitzer, Marketing Coordinator

Ashley oversees marketing and communications for Nonprofits Assistance Fund. She is responsible for our overall strategy, crafting all our print and online communications, maintaining our website and blogs (including blogging at Nonprofit Harvest and tweeting from @NAFund), managing our online communities, client outreach, and managing media relations. Ashley recently participated in MCN's Strategic
Connectors Leadership Institute and helps facilitate the Twin Cities Net
Squared Meetup.
Previously, she worked at Grassroots Solutions. She is a graduate of Macalester College.
Michelle Crain, Accountant

As Nonprofits Assistance Fund's accountant, Michelle prepares timely and reliable financial statements and manages accounts payable. She brings to the organization nearly 20 years' experience and is a Certified Management Accountant. Michelle attended Minnesota State University- Mankato.
Amanda Dlouhy, Program Assistant

Amanda assists with development activities and coordinates Nonprofits Assistance Fund's training program,
including overseeing the workshop schedule, logistics, and evaluation
process. She is currently a Company Dancer with Ragamala Music
and Dance Theater, a company
creating work rooted in South Indian classical dance, and is active
with several other area nonprofits. Amanda graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in
history.
