This workshop is designed to build your confidence in working with budgets. At this workshop, you will learn about the relationships between budgeting, planning, and financial management. You will walk away with a proven 10 step process you can use to craft budgets within your organization. This workshop is right for you if you are new to the nonprofit sector, nonprofit finance, or your position as staff or board member.

Fundamentals of Nonprofit Finance
This workshop is designed to make you more comfortable with nonprofit finance. At this workshop, you will walk through real nonprofit examples and reports that will help you understand jargon, accounting rules, roles and responsibilities, and procedures and policies. This workshop is right for you if you are new to the nonprofit sector, nonprofit finance, or your position as staff or board member.

What Do Your Programs Really Cost?
Do you know what it costs to deliver your programs? This workshop will help you allocate expenses, build realistic program budgets, and communicate what your work actually costs. You will learn to identify direct and indirect expenses using real-life examples, and then review different methods of allocating these costs to programs. You will use this information in a Mission-Money Matrix to make informed decisions about your organization’s programs.

Building Your Board’s Financial Leadership
This workshop will help you build your board’s fiscal effectiveness. You will learn how boards use financial information to make decisions and how you can provide them with the right information at the right time. This workshop is right for you if you are a program or finance staff person or executive director with financial responsibilities and a direct reporting relationship with the board of directors.

Ratios and Reports: Indicators to Understanding Your Nonprofit’s Finances
Are you listening to everything your financial reports are telling you? This is an intermediate workshop designed for nonprofit leaders who want to take their financial management skills to the next level. At this workshop, you will learn about the components of financial health and identify key financial indicators. You will learn about commonly used financial ratios and options for benchmarks and monitoring reports.

Financial Leadership for Executive Directors
This workshop is designed to help executive directors confidently lead their organization’s financial plan. At this workshop, you will learn how to work with your staff and board to create a culture of financial responsibility and accountability. This workshop is for executive directors only, so you will be able to talk with other leaders of organizations who are in the same situation as you.

Strategic Financial Planning
This is an advanced workshop designed for nonprofit leaders who want to take their financial management skills to the next level. At this workshop, you will learn about analytical tools to assist in understanding your organization’s current financial position and current business model, different techniques and approaches to having practical conversations critical to organizational decision-making, and factors to consider when scenario planning and multi-year budgeting.
